Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
Introduction
Stanworth Law Solicitors is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, including the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations and supply chains.
Although we are not currently required to publish a slavery and human trafficking statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we believe it is important to demonstrate our commitment to transparency and corporate responsibility.
Our Business
Stanworth Law is a regulated legal practice based in the North West of England, specialising in personal injury, industrial disease, and military hearing loss claims. As a law firm, our supply chains are relatively low risk but may include:
External counsel and medical experts
Office and IT suppliers
Outsourced business services (e.g., document storage, facilities management, software providers)
Our Commitment
We are fully committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chains. We take a zero-tolerance approach to any such practices and expect the same from those we engage with.
Due Diligence and Risk Management
We assess our suppliers / service providers based on risk and maintain oversight of our business relationships. Our approach includes:
Using only reputable suppliers and service providers
Verifying credentials of third-party contractors and agencies
Reviewing contracts to ensure compliance with ethical standards
Ceasing relationships where concerns arise and no remedial action is taken
Staff Training and Awareness
While the risk of modern slavery in our direct operations is minimal, we recognise the importance of awareness. All staff are made aware of:
The signs of modern slavery and human trafficking
How to report concerns internally or externally
Our internal policies on whistleblowing, anti-bribery, and ethical conduct
We will consider additional training where appropriate for individuals involved in supplier engagement or recruitment.
Reporting and Responsibility
The directors of Stanworth Law have overall responsibility for this policy and for ensuring it is reviewed and updated annually.
Any concerns relating to modern slavery, whether internal or external, should be reported immediately to a senior manager or via our internal whistleblowing procedures.
